Name: Yami
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Home World: Destiny Islands
Personality: Dante is a tough guy both inside and out, but can also be sensitive and huggable at times. Dante is usually quiet and distant from people, especially on his birthday. He takes his time when walking around town, seeing as how his life went when he was a careless fool. Not usually one to start a conversation, so he lets others choose the topic to speak about. He is more doopey than anything, yawning often and bumping into things. This doopiness does nothing good for him while he lays incognito during quests, especially espionage quests, so he is usually chosen for missions that deal with strength, fighting, or protecting, sometimes even escorting.
Through all of this, he is very sweet. He's a shy individual that likes to keep away from danger, even though he's a Warrior, to lessen the work and tenseness off of the ones he escorts or protects. He's artsy, being an artist, muscician and writer, and doing things that come under those three categories usually cool him off when he's mad, agitated, or sad. Even though he doesn't like attention, he'll save anyone that needs saving, wether or not the person is good or evil. His ideals of life are simple: Save everyone, leave no one. Do your job, don't ever look back.
Sometimes, which is rarely, he can be cute. Not the teen "OMG! He's so HAWT!", but the "OMG! It's like a chibi human hybrid!" cute. These times are usually when he's reading a story that he wrote or when he's actually talking intellectually, like he should talk all the time, but the times can also be spontaneous.
Physical Description: Dante is tall, six foot two to be exact, and is slim. He weighs exactly 168 pounds and has a slim body figure, but is strong all the same. He has sleek, jet black hair that hangs over his deep hazel eyes. His skin has more of a pale and tan mixture, something that his father had. His normal clothes are usually a pair of blue jeans that fit just right, an undershirt of black color with a jacket of red imprinted with a white skull insignia. A cloak, a ragged brown cloak, covers his whole body, so seeing the rest under it is usually impossible. He wears a pair of red sneakers that have a black stripes going down the middle of the shoes. He also sports a pair of black gloves that have the same white skull insignia. His sword hangs on his back in a special holster that he can use to attack with if using the blade would be to much.
Weapons: A special edged, double handed sword. A hidden blade beneath his sleeve.
History: Before
Light shone through the one window in the small , compact room where a child was lying on a small, woven pallet of different colors. It was morning, apparently, and everything outside was just starting to become active. The birds were singing, the adults were starting to slam on their snooze buttons and the world just seemed to be placed back into its normal motion. An alarm clock sounded the first segment of the day: Morning. The small child was the first to wake up, yawning and stretching. He rubbed his eyes and sheepishly stood up from the ground while attempting to make it over to the door with his small, chubby legs. The child was about ten years old and the first day of summer was finally beginning, but while everyone was still napping, the child, which we will now name Dante, was still young and full of energy. He made his way to the door where his parent's room awaited him beyond the threshold. He was going to wake his parents up, since he still thought that it was normal for everyone to wake up at the designated time. As he turned the knob, he pushed his entire body onto the door and entered without making any extremely loud noises. Dante walked towards the bed that his parents were sleeping in. It was a normal king sized bed with blue adornments and white lacing. A sound came from Dante. Mommy... Daddy... it's time to wake up for work." Dante shook his parent's bed when they didn't reply with more than a muffled yawn. His father was the first to be woken up by the strange tremor and he looked over to see little Dante shaking the bed with all of his might. He laughed and woke his wife, who started to smile as she saw Dante. Dante stopped and looked up with his curious eyes that were full of sparkling youth. His mother spoke, "Baby, what are you doing up so early, don't you know that there's no school or work for awhile?" Dante looked around and scratched his head. "Baby, we've had this talk before, there's a thing called summer vacation and that's when everyone can rest for a while." Dante was still unsure, but he nodd2ed and trotted out of the room. "What are we going to do with that boy?," his father spoke. "I have no idea.... well, I guess we should get up now, hm?"
Dante went walking into the living room where his older sister was eating a bowl of corn flakes while reading a new book she had obtained not to long ago. She had wavy blonde hair, where she got it, no one knows. All of the rest of her family had either black hair, like Dante and his father, or brown hair, like Dante's mother. In her hair was a beret of blue, sky blue to be exact, shaped in the form of a bird, the animal that she admired the most. She wore a pair of silky red pajamas that went well with her deep, brown eyes which were hidden by her glasses. She was adorned with a smile that was slight and petit, but still a smile. "Hi Anne! What're you reading?" anne looked up from her book and giggled. "I've already told you, Dante, that I'm reading Hamlet. Can you spell that for me?" Dante looked around the room as if it were going to give him any hints, but there were no signs of any. "Um....H.A.M...L.A.T.. I'm right... aren't I?" His sister shook her head and corrected his mistake. "I'm sorry Dante, you're wrong. It's H.A.M.L.E.T... Hamlet." Dante smiled. He didn't much care for a book of that size. He looked at the back door where a small knob was attatched. Beyond that door was the backyard where he would run until he was to tired to run anymore. When his sister wasn't studying or reading, she would join him until dinner was announced and then she would go back to studying. He wasn't allowed to go back there by himself, so he was watched by his sister while she sat on a lawn chair, reading what ever it was that she had. He turned back around and began the long journey upstairs to his room. There he would draw and think as he watched the ceiling. The curtains of velvet blue were closed, keeping the rays of subnlight from entering the house. There was an exception, though, as a small, thin beam of light was passing through an uncovered segment of the window. Dante sat on his pallet on the floor and stared at the cieling of pastel white, where he thought and imagined what life would be like if he were a samurai, one that he saw recently on T.V.
Later on
Dante strolled down the steps of the house as he held onto a sketch book and mechanical pencil. "Here comes our boy, honey." It was in the winter months, the first day of December to be exact, and it was Dante's birthday today. He was turning 14 soon and he couldn't wait until he saw what he obtained for presents. He had done well this year, much better than previous years in school, and his parents promised him key items that he had wished for. His sister was sitting on the couch, smiling as she read another novel that Dante had come up with. He was beginning to enjoy the art of writing, not to mention the art of music and drawing. His sister told him that she would proofread his stories and tell him how he had done and what he could have done better to make the novel more interesting. He had dreams of becoming big so he could pay the bills for his parents when they got older so that they could live a very peaceful life in their elderly stage. "Hi, brother. Story is good so far, no mistakes from what I can see. I'm on the fourteenth chapter." Dante smiled. "Hehe, nice. I made sure to read it over about ten times to make sure I didn't make any mistakes for the rough draft." His sister laughed softly, brushing back her hair. "Well, Dante, it's your birthday today. What's the plan for the afternoon?' "Oh, nothing. I was just going to see if Terance wanted to hang out. If he can, we'll hang out with the others. You know how his parents are a tad bit afraid of him getting mixed up with the wrong crowd?" "Oh, his parents shouldn't worry to much. They know that you hang out with them too. You've not done anything wrong... yet. Hahaha!" Dante took a seat next to his sister. She wasn't more than a year older than him and that was cool, because he actually had someone to relate to. Hissister had failed a grade last year because she slacked off, hanging with the wrong boy and all, so she was in Dante's classes, every last one of them too. People who didn't know them would often confuse them as boyfriend and girlfriend since the two always hung out together. They talked about how weird that would seem and how life would be if that statement were true and they would laugh, they would disagree and have a friendly argument from time to time, and then if one was sad, the other would cheer them up. It was good for both of the two teens to be in the same classes and what not, it did a lot for Anne's mental ability and a lot for Dante's artistic interests. "Well, me and your mother are going out for groceries tonight. Don't mess up the house to much, okay?" The both just nooded without looking up once. The jingle of the doorbell rang in the house as Terance walked up to the door. He had a video-game in his hand and a new hat on his head that said: Gamers Rule Forever. Dante went to the door in a flash and opened it. Terance walked up a little and said , "Hey there man! I just came by to say happy birthday to ya. Your parents allowing you to come over anywhere... my house more specifically?" Dante laughed. His sister Anne walked up behind Dante and placed her hands on his shoulder, along with her chin. "Hey there Terance. It's Dante's birthday, so he gets to go anywhere that he would only be able to go on weekends. Say, do you mind if I come with?" Terance laughed. "Of course not. The more the merrier. Me and Dante were just going to finish up the rest of the Resident Evil game. The three said good-bye to the parents and walked out towards Terance's house, which was right across the street.
Later that Night
Dante was just walking home from Terance's house and the Resident Evil game had been completed. He arrived at his doorstep and saw that the light in the livingroom was on. "Wow, my party must be ready. Dante opened the door and walked into the living room. "Hey guys, I'm here. Sorrry I-..." Dante stopped and saw that Anne was already home, twitling her thumbs as shed looked up and smiled at Dante. "Hey there Dante. Where's Mom and Dad... do you know?" "No. What? Have they gone somewhere? If so, why is all of the party set up?" " I don't know. I've been waiting for them to arrive. I came in and saw all of this here. Dante shook his head and sat near his sister. "I guess we'll wait for them then." "None sense. We'll open your presents now. The only things missing are your candles and birthday cake. So.... we'll just have to blow something else out.... hmm... Ah, this candle. Here." Dante shook his head and blew it out, making a simple wish, wondering where his parents were.
Later on that night
Dante rested himself upon his bed and stared up at the ceiling, contemplating. He didn't know what had happened to his parents. Didn't they love him? Was he turning into bad child? Nothing made sense at all. He took deep breaths and calmed himself down. If he was worried, he wouldn't be able to think straight. He felt he had to go to the bathroom... really bad, so he sat up on his bead and stretched his arms widely before making his way to the bathroom. The hallway was lit with the bright light of the flourescent light bulb that his mother always bought. She always thought that this would help the enviorment, so no one complained. Dante did his job in the bathroom and washed his hands. He looked at himself in the mirror and wondered what it was about him that his parents would dislike. He sighed heavily, drying his hands on the purple towel next to him. Dante set out of the room and took a deep breath. He looked up at the ceiling to think and then turned away. "Dante.." Dante sighed and turned around to see nothing but a cold, aluminum bat bash around and then... everything was black. Dante had woken up in a daze, feeling the intense pain on his cheek. He made it out that his cheekbone was broken and that he was no longer in his room or on the floor where he should've been after being hit in the head. He rubbed his eyes and looked around to see white, everywhere. He could see people in lab coats walking around and taking notes on something that was happening on another screen. "Ah! Good morning Dante. We've been wondering if you were dead. Can you stand up for me and answer a few questions?" Dante did as the man asked and crossed his arms. "Good, Good... now, Where do you think you are?" "Your freaking prison of science. What is it that you want from me? Do you want to remove my organs? Maybe change the way I look? Make me into some animal?" The scientest llaughed. "Oh no, of course not. We just want to try a few experiments, harmless things like seeing how much you can lift and how far you can run, those sorts of things. You like to run, don't you?" Dante turned around, showing his back to the scientest. "I don't want to work as a lab rat for you. You'll take my life without notice once I let my guard down, I know you will." The scinetest shook his head and spoke again. "You have no choice, my friend. You're ours and that's all you need to know... OH! And there is one more thing... we've tested you and the rest of your family, with the exception of your sister of course, and we've decided that you're the perfect candidate for our bio experiment. Congratulations." "I thought you said that you'd only do simple experiments?!" "The experiment is simple... We put you to sleep and then we try different things. The scientest pressed a button on a panel and a vapor of gas came out from a vent in the wall. It had a lime green color to it and it had no scent, but it did havei ts effects. Dante felt light headed and he fell to his knees, watching as the scientest went out of view.
